Huawei Pura 70 Pro: Hidden Features You Must Know

Once a staunch advocate of the Huawei P20 Pro, I was drawn to its impressive camera capabilities, prompting me to trade in my Nikon DSLR for a more compact option. Now, Huawei returns with the Pura 70 Pro, heralding a new era in smartphone photography.

Celebrating 12 years of flagship excellence, Huawei rebrands its lineup from the P series to the Pura series, signaling more than just a change in name. The standout feature of the Pura 70 Pro is its unconventional rear camera setup, a triangular island housing three cameras reminiscent of a hidden mickey layout. Not only does this design catch the eye, but it also offers a comfortable grip, inadvertently preventing unsightly pinky dents. Complementing its innovative design is a sleek aesthetic,

featuring a curved screen seamlessly flowing into glossy metal sides and culminating in an elegant matte back. However, it’s unfortunate that the purple variant isn’t universally available. Nevertheless, the true star of the show is the camera system.

With a 50-megapixel main shooter, a 12.5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, the Pura 70 Probe delivers impressive optical and digital zoom capabilities. Powered by intuitive software and AI functionalities, the cameras excel in various lighting conditions, enhancing image vibrancy and clarity.

Yet there are occasional instances of excessive AI adjustments, particularly noticeable in shots of celestial bodies or overly blurred backgrounds. In addition to photography, the Pura 70 Pro impresses with its durability, featuring second-generation Kumlan glass that offers enhanced resistance to scratches and drops. On a display front, the phone boasts a bright screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2500 nits of brightness, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight.

While Huawei’s App Gallery lacks some Google apps, it offers workarounds for APK downloads from third-party sources, albeit with some compatibility issues. Despite these software hurdles, the Pura70 Pro excels in battery performance, with its sizable 5050mAh battery easily lasting a day under heavy usage.
