The Frio River in Texas is one of the more stunning places to cool off from the summer heat. Up and down the river you’ll find plenty of places to swim, float and jump…with two of the best being Garner State Park and the Frio River Cabins. Garner State Park offers swimming, floating and rope swing all with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. Just up river from here you’ll find the Frio River Cabins where you can stay and enjoy their riverfront swimming hole that was recently voted the “best swimming hole in Texas” by Texas Monthly Magazine. The river is lower than normal with the lack of rainfall of late, but there’s still plenty of water to enjoy a day of fun on the Frio this summer.
